Mean, Median And Mode

Today we had to do a DLO about mean, median and mode. I used wideo to do my DLO. The reason why we are learning this is that its important and if we are doing an assessment and you don't know what mean, median and mode are you might fail. I think that this is fun and I like doing mean, median and mode because it is easy to do. We have to share our DLO to our blog, this was a fast finishers activity. What was hard, nothing was hard, what was easy, everything, what did you hate, nothing, what did you enjoy the most, doing my mean median and mode. Collage

Today we did art, the type of art we did is called collage. Collage is when you make a photo by layering photos on top of each other, and when you use different shapes to create a shape without actually creating that shape. When you do collage you have to plan out the shapes before you glue your pieces on because you don't want to mess it up without planning your design! We have done so much art this term, first, we did tapa cloth, tapa cloth is made from bark and originally from the pacific islands. The second art we did weaving, weaving was easy to do because it was only under and over. The next one we did was watercolouring because I love doing painting because my favourite thing to do is art. After we did our collage. After we did our collage we put all of our art on a big black paper and add our poems that go with our artwork.

What was easy: doing my watercolouring because I think I'm good at doing art.

What was hard: planing out on my black piece of paper where I'm going to put my work and poems.

What did I enjoy: I enjoyed doing the watercolouring the most because I liked blending my paint.

What did I least enjoy: I least enjoyed nothing because I love doing art it's my favourite thing to do.

Tapa Cloth

Today we inked our Tapa Cloth. on Tuesday we did our crayon on your paper, and today we inked our Tapa Cloth since I choose black card I inked my Tapa Cloth white, we had some key points for our Tapa Cloth. A Tapa Cloth is made the pacific islands (I am from there,) Tapa Cloth in nowadays is made for formal occasions such as weddings, Tapa Cloth is made from bark, but we used card, after inking our Tapa Cloth we are going to use charcoal for the little details, so I had to put lots of white ink. For our Tapa Cloth, we used card brown and black, crayon brown and white, white paper for our draft, ink brown, and white. First, we got the inspiration for our Tapa Cloth and we did our draft, in our draft we did designs, next step is we got our card and crayon and did our draft designs and transferred it onto the card, next we got the ink and put the ink on our card after we did our charcoal. We all drew 6 different things, I drew the eel, the eel trap, heaven, sun, wave, and the trees. The Creation Of Tuna is about Tuna O Runga I Te Rangi (The eel,) got cut into four pieces, and then made into more eels, from the different parts of the body.

Next time I could add more detail to my drawings, and my favorite part is drawing my drawings onto the card because I love to draw things.

Paperboy Questions

    

Today for reading we got a new book called "Paperboy." Paperboy is a novel type of story, so far I have read an article, kind of like a hint to what the story is about. We have to do three questions about the story for my group. This story is about Victor Vollmer, a stuttering 11 year old boy and he can't talk.

1. What was your first impression of the novel?

     My first impression was a bit confused, because he was talking about a knife, on the first page, because

     I only read the first page.

2. How do you think this story relates to "Hurumanu speaking my truth"?

    I think this relates to "Hurumanu speaking my truth" because it's reading.

3. What are you looking most forward to about this novel study?

    I'm looking forward to doing more blog post's.

The Lack Of Pigeons

Today we started a new book for reading. I read The Lack Of Pigeons, Its about a girl named Meredith and she is a film star, and she is on her way for an audition. Since I have finished reading my book I have ton do questions on our hurumanu site. I have six questions to do, and I have to put the answers into questions.

1. Meredith'’s personality.

     She is happy that she is going to her audition for her character, because it might be 

     her first time doing something like this and she's probably been wanting to do this       for her whole life.

2. Why did Meredith tell people she had an audition?

Because she is probably very excited and she can't control her happiness.

3. How did Meredith's Mum react to news of the audition?

Probably happy for Meredith because she is doing her best.

4. What is the author trying to tell us in this story?

The author is telling us that Meredith wants to become a actor, because it might

be her dream to become famous.

5. Predict what would happen if there really was an audition.

She might have done very well for her first audition, but maybe it might have

been a little bit hard for her first time.

6. What do you think happens at an audition?

An audition is like an interview for your job, for example a movie star.

KK's Chinese Palace Design

Yesterday we started making our own restaurant because we were having a break from doing the working from home learning site because we have been  doing that for the whole week. So yesterday we started doing our own restaurant, my feelings were very excited because I like doing my own designs and making my own stuff like theme parks on paper. My favourite part was getting to design our own restaurant because it's fun when you get to choose what we get to do, first we choose the serving of what type of food we are going to serve, I choose Chinese because Chinese food has so many options of food, after that we put some pics of the food of what we are going to serve, next we choose what our restaurant is going to be called mine is going to be called "KK's Chinese Palace," then we choose our colours my colours are red white and a light gold, then we choose our fonts using our place name, then we did our moodboard, we put in pics of ideas of what our restaurant will look like, and next we will do our logos for our place. My restaurant is going to be for family's.

The Great Bubble Adventure

Today in Miss Laycock's class we did an activity about our great bubble adventure, we choose two different colour pipe cleaners, after we choose one colour out of the two, then we shared something according to the colour, after that we used our pipe cleaners to make what we shared about and after be blog about it. I choose yellow, yellow is "tell us something about an activity you did in our bubble" I said "I enjoyed doing my school pack I got for learning from home."

What was easy: Sharing what my activity was in lock down.

Christmas Activity

Yesterday and today we did a Christmas activity we got a sheet we clue 1-2 and 3-4 we figured out the person her name was Irena Vicks it was really fun to do after we finished  we blog it,the first question was We need to figure out if she is wearing a sweater she is wearing a sweater, next question was what gender Female, next question was riddles and the answer is the thief is not a visitor, the answer to the next one is the thief is a child.

Today I started to do Spring Summer Learning Journey. It is what we do in the holidays, each holiday we get a different category this holidays it is food, we have twenty different activity's today i'm doing activity 6 "Create a google drawing of a food you have never tried but want to try explain you would like to eat it." I made a google drawing with a dumpling I never ate dumplings before.

Today I did another Spring Summer Learning Journey. It is what we do in the holidays, each holiday we get a different category this holidays it is food, we have twenty different activity's today i'm doing activity 7, "Choose a country and research the foods they eat. Create a presentation to share the information to your blog." I did Vietnam whet they eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, Christmas, New year and Halloween.

Today I did another Spring Summer Learning Journey. It is what we do in the holidays, each holiday we get a different category this holidays it is food, we have twenty different activity's today i'm doing activity nine. "Try and make an alphabet list of all of the foods you can think of! Can you find a food for all of the letters in the alphabet?" I used google slides I could think of all the letters in the alphabet.

UM Spring Summer Learning Journey Activity 19

Today I started to do Spring Summer Learning Journey. It is what we do in the holidays, each holiday we get a different category this holidays it is food, we have twenty different activity's today i'm doing activity nineteen. "Design your own restaurant/cafe/fast food joint. What would it look like and what kind of food would you sell. Create a menu to go in it. You could even design the uniforms for the staff." I did a google drawing with the staff's uniform, what it looks on the outside, what it looks at the counter and what one family table looks like and three menus two different cultures of food Indian and Chinese and one for drinks.

What Has Changed From 1984

For the past two days we have been doing a worksheet about what has changed from 1984, in the box at the bottom we drawed\wrote what has changed from 1984. I had to think really hard because I was not even born those days.

What Was Hard: thinking what has changed from 1984.

Oink + Cluck

Today we did an activity called "Oink and Cluck." We had to find out how many different ways to work out how many pigs and chickens there were on the road. My group me Jacobie and Zi'ao we used jelly beans. It was a bit hard but i think we got the hang of it. It was a bit easy but I tried to help Jacobie and Zi'ao. Here is the work we did.
