Why You Should Go To Nga Hau E Wha National Marae

Hello Readers i'm back with an other blog post, today i'm talking about why you should you go to Nga Hau E Wha National Marae, so lets start!
The Nga Hau E Wha National Marae, I have been there before and I LOVED it, it was so fun, I wish I could live there, when I went there it was a whole school trip and we got welcomed in with a haka powhiri, a haka powhiri is when you get welcomed in by Maori its like a short haka or a performance, after that we went in the Marae and for a few minutes we watched a performance retelling one story by Maui, after that we split up boys and girls and the boys played kapa haka games, and the girls learned poi. Why should you go to Nga Hau E Wha National Marae? You should go there because it is a cool place and you can learn about the Maoris culture, learn new things that you didn't know about. When you go there you can also learn the poi (only for the ladies,) and you can play games (only for the men.) Its also a great place for tourists if they want to learn about Maori. You will be welcomed in with the haka powhiri and you will be surprised to see their performances and other things.

Breakfast Blog

A few weeks ago we wrote persuasive writing, we wrote how we made our breakfast. I wrote steps on how to make Milo, I added the ingredients, materials, steps, and some other things. You may make Milo differently, but this is the way I make it. So firstly I boil up the water in the kettle, next I put in three teaspoons of Milo and 2 teaspoons of powdered milk in my cup, after that I put in quarter cup of cold water in my cup with the mixture AKA Milo and milk, when the water is  all boiled up I put in the boiling water in my cup till its full. And its done! (This step is optional,) add anything you like on top I sprinkle on the choc topping, you can add marshmallows, and many more other things that you are interested in.

What was hard: getting the facts,
What was easy: making the Powtoon look like a quality Powtoon.

Mrs Hindson's Class - Blog post

Yesterday and Today in cooking class Period 4 we cooked Mexican food, or also known for me and Mrs Hindson we went to Mexico, yesterday we made nachos, it was yummy, thanks to Mrs Hindson she knows all the secret recipes and secret spices. I could taste the taco seasoning it smelt like just regular mince and chips, it felt like really chunky, it was brilliant I wish I had more. That sour cream just gave that whole thing a taste. Our ingredients were mince, corn chips, chilli beans, regular beans\baked beans, tomato paste, sour cream, red onions, carrots, red\green capsicum. Today we made quesadillas, which are Mexican sandwich using tortillas, ingredients are tortillas, filling which had chilli beans and some vegetables, sour cream so this recipe today is vegetarian. The quesadillas taste the best i really liked it, just like before it was brilliant, I could taste the beans in it and just like before that sour cream gave that whole thing the taste it felt like I was in a dream! It felt really thin because it is a tortilla so obviously it will be thin not like a thick sandwich. Mrs Hindson made the filling and when we came the filling was all ready but few minutes later, she smashed it up using a potato smasher to make the filling more thick.

😀😀Thank You Mrs Hindson For Your Time And Effort You Put In To Teach Us Everything😀😀

Te Tiriti O Waitangi

Yesterday we did a sheet about the Tiriti O Waitangi, we watched a video from the Aotearoa History Show, we watched videos from Aotearoa History Show many many different times, but this one is about the Maori treaty, and how they defended themselves from the war when they started the war, they builded flax walls to slow down the attackers, a bunker under the ground to come and attack them if the leader dies, log walls and the person who was shooting the attackers so they don't come close to them. In the bunker they had two family's to come and help attack. We had to do a sheet with questions on it and when we were watching the video, now today we have to write a summery about basically what we did, we also have to put in 10 questions and add some pictures to our summery/blog post.

Here Are My 10 questions:

1. The Maori population rised to 700,000 before it was 100,000,
2. The main two reasons the population dropped is because of war and disease,
3. Edward Wake Feild was the person to set up the New Zealand Company,
4. The main settement in Aotearoa New Zealand at this time is Russel-Kororareka,

Learning different types of sentences

Last week Tuesday and Wednesday we learned 3 other types of sentences, the sentences were the w starting, the very short sentence and simple to complex sentences. The w starting sentence is when you have to start your sentence with the w words, where, when, while and whilst, we had to choose one of these w words. The very short sentence is when you have to write a sentence but it has to have less or 5 words. Simple to complex sentence is when your sentence is simple like, "we stood outside for twenty minutes" to "this morning we stood shivering on a snow covered sidewalk in front of the school for twenty misarble minutes, while the fire cheif investigated the cause of the fire alarm." In our simple to complex sentence, we have to add an adjective first, then we add when, where, how and why, but we didn't do why because that would make our story bit to long. we did a lot of writing on our google doc.

Here is my writing:

The First Day Of School

Hi readers I just felt like blogging so i'm blogging about the first day of school, we started school on the 30 of Jan, but I just felt like writing a blog post.

The first day of school felt nervous because it was a new school, and everyone was bigger than me and I didn't even some of the people there, luckily there was some of my old school friends there. That day it was a half day, I always thought "what if I got lost because it's such a big school since it is a high school." On the first day we made stuff we like to do with clay, I made an artist palette because I like painting and doing crafts. Also we went around the whole school, so basically it was a whole school tour! How did you feel on the first day of school?

Blog Post - The Martian Parts Of The Movie

Mark Watney and A group of astronauts travelled to Mars. Back on Earth the radar caught a storm coming and told the people on Mars to get to the ship, but on the way back to the ship Mark got hit by a satellite and the storm carried on while his crew got back to the ship safely, and took off without him. Few hours after the storm had stopped, all of sudden Mark woke up and found his stomach was hit, by something that looked like a satellite with a hook, Mark went back to his base and gave himself surgery and tried to get something metal out. He survived for nearly 200 days. In those 200 days he made life on Mars, he also blew himself up while he was making his life. He was roaming around Mars and he found some sort of device satellite thing so he can communicate back to Earth. Few days later he got back to Earth safely. Few years later when he was old he started teaching at a university.

{Instead when they are on space missions they call days SOL__}
{When he made life he actually made potato's}

Early Encounters In Aotearoa

Last week on Friday we started Early Encounters In Aotearoa, there were questions about when the Europeans came to NZ when the Maoris were first in NZ, we answered the questions on our sheet and then we have to write a summery, i'm going to write the summery,

Abel Tasman was the first explorer to arrive in NZ, and he arrived in 1642,

James Cook was the next explorer to arrive in NZ, and he arrived in 1769,

Tupaia was the name of the chief navigator helping Captain James Cook,

A Musket is a gun/weapon

Simple to complex sentences

Hello readers i'm back with an other blog post about simple to complex sentences,

Today in hurumanu we did simple to complex sentences, the few reasons why we are doing the simple to complex sentences is because normally we do simple sentences, we have a assessment coming up tomorrow, improve our writing and to make our sentences more interesting, so today we did from "the dog ate" to "the dog ate softly and quickly on the hard floor." How we did our practice, first we started with the simple sentence "the dog ate" then we did adjective, then a when, where, and why.
