Yesterday we did a sheet about the Tiriti O Waitangi, we watched a video from the Aotearoa History Show, we watched videos from Aotearoa History Show many many different times, but this one is about the Maori treaty, and how they defended themselves from the war when they started the war, they builded flax walls to slow down the attackers, a bunker under the ground to come and attack them if the leader dies, log walls and the person who was shooting the attackers so they don't come close to them. In the bunker they had two family's to come and help attack. We had to do a sheet with questions on it and when we were watching the video, now today we have to write a summery about basically what we did, we also have to put in 10 questions and add some pictures to our summery/blog post.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your introduction to this blog post explaining what we have been doing in our hurumanu.
Some of your facts are great and some are incorrect so well done on the facts that you got right like the word definitions. Maori population actually dropped from 100,000 to 70,000-80,000.
The British sent Hobson to NZ to ensure that the Maori weren't forced into signing the treaty.
Maori used everything you listed except cannons, that technology came later.
Keep up the great work.
